My credit card information has been stolen. I found out on Christmas that my CC had been used to purchase iPhones, a Uhaul rental and various other items in NY. I just received an email that Tackle Warehouse had a data breach and all of the credit card data has been compromised. If you have ever purchased anything from Tackle Warehouse, check your credit card statements now and think about shutting down your CC account and obtaining a new credit card. Hopefully no else here has to go what I am currently dealing with! That is my PSA for today........

Dang thieves, I have ordered lots from them. Not only do I now need a new card, but all the auto payments need to be updated. I always miss a few.

Question for you Mike, how do you know that it was the Tackle Warehouse data breach was responsible for your credit card charges? I need to get a new card every 8-12 months because of fraud, but I never know what happened. Please explain.

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. I got a notification at midnight today that went into my spam folder in Gmail. Thankfully it doesn't seem like my card has been used, but I will keep an eye on it. AmEx is usually pretty good about fraud but you can't be too careful.

I have been hacked too often with my Capital One Spark VISA Card. Since I have used a RFID Card Protector Sleeve and using Pay Pal to pay for my online purchases I have not been hacked in over 2 years. I was applying for a new VISA every year for 4 years.

I use the Alpine brand. Inexpensive and very effective.

I can't say it is 100% the data breach from Tackle Warehouse, but they are the only company that has contacted me about a data breach and my information being stolen. My buddy, who never uses his credit card, bought some fishing gear from TW for our trip to the Boundary Waters last year, had someone try to charge $900 cash on his credit card last month. Pretty sure that was the only time he used that card this year, other than at gas stations on the way up and back.
