Back in the day I quit following the Vikings because they kept losing at the super bowl. Now I've given up on the Packers as they can't even get to the super bowl!

Classic. Rogers is done with the Packers and might be done with football all together. Which would be just fine with me. He can go back to Callie.

Lots of crying in Green Bay last night! I don't blame them. They had the game up until that fateful punt (field goal block in first half was an ominous foreshadowing).

Honest question here, was it snowing in Green Bay last night or was that just the frozen tears of 70,000 packer fans?
What’s up with the Packers only having 10 men on the field on the last play of the game?

I am heartbroken for the team and Packer Fans. I wish people would stop needling Aaron Rogers and taking jabs at him. He is the greatest Quarterback in Moderna history.

I haven't been this sad since Wham broke up.

If you are done with Rodgers send him to Chicago. We could use a qb who actually has a clue how to play the position. To me he is the most talented qb I’ve ever seen play. Sorry cheeseheads but that was fun to watch. Go Rams! I’m a Stafford fan, he’s my guy!

And if I know my beloved Vikes, they'll salivate if anyone suggests a trade: Cousins for Tannehill.....

Our heartbreak was intense last night but the jokes I've seen since then have reminded me there's a lot of joy involved in losing this far into the season too. Getting there was a blast and more than enough to make up for a truly embarrassing performance by the better team.

It's all rigged anyway. ;)

He did set another NFL record.

Rodgers became the first quarterback in NFL history to lose four times in the playoffs to a single opponent in the Super Bowl era after falling to the the San Francisco 49ers 13-10. Green Bay scored 20 points or fewer in three of those four setbacks.

01/23/2022 02:10PM
I won't make any comments on the Packers, Other than, to me, they are in the same category as: the Rams, Cowboys, Cardinals, Seahawks. Just rivals and stepping stones to get by on the way to the Superbowl. Or tripping stones, depending on the year. There were many times that the Packers (Farve) ended our season too early.

But we still have to beat Tom Brady... Another local guy
BTW. would it be safe to wear my Niner cap on my August trip?

No sympathy for packers fans here. I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life which includes 50 + years of watching the Vikings.

Over time the pain and numbness fades. I look forward to the Vikings missing he playoffs to save the agony to come.

Rogers puts himself out there enough with all the commercials and social media. I don't feel bad about people needling him at all. If he didn't like the attention, he could avoid it a lot better than he currently does.

At least you're realistic :)

The Packers aren't in a bad position. Should be an entertaining off-season. My guess is they will do the tag & trade on Adams and will also trade Rodgers, netting them a haul of draft picks and somebody's else's younger/cheaper #1 WR. They still have a lot going for them -- two solid RB's, a young coach, decent talent on both lines, the #2 rated linebacker in the league, three solid young corners. We will find out what Matt LaFleur is made of in the next 2-3 seasons. The NFC North is awful - the Packers could've lost four (maybe even five with tiebreakers) more games this year and still won the division.

Yeah, well, you can't win if you can't enter.

I'm rooting for the Rams and especially Stafford 'cuz he's always been highly underrated in my book.

The Bungles could work as my second choice.

Whatever. There is always next year. I just want to see three more games as competitive as the four last weekend.

Correct -- One of them leads the league in all-time interceptions and the other one owns all the records for TD/INT ratio. You can dislike Rodgers as a person but he's got as many rings as favre does and is about to eclipse him in MVPs.

If you ask me they are both complete and total idiots, and ultimately under-achievers that were good to throwing footballs and not a lot else.

Brad, I've been quietly taking all this (good natured?) trash talk right on the chin because when our team loses, we take it, hopefully like we take the wins.

With that said, there will forever be comparisons made between Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Packers fans still do it to this day so it doesn't surprise me that Vikings fans do it, too.

I have been a Packers fan since I was old enough to know what a football was. I saw the very end of Bart Starr's career, and I've seen Brett Favre's and Aaron Rodgers' entire careers. Yes, indeed... Aaron Rodgers is no Brett Favre, and to that, I will say, "Thank God!" As great as Favre was, Rodgers has blown him out of the water with his talents and pure passing ability, and especially in how he takes care of the ball and the precision with which he throws it. It's pure greatness.

Nobody has mentioned yet that the Chiefs and the Bills game was decided by a coin toss. That has to be the dumbest rule in football. Each team should get one possession of the ball at least. Those guys put everything they had on the field for 60 minutes for it to end by a coin toss basically.

I'm not saying that both teams shouldn't get the ball once, but no game in history has ever been decided by a coin toss. The last time I checked, the eleven guys on defense have a job to do, too.

I'm not saying I agree with NFL overtime rules but I'm not certain how many overtimes fans could live through if they changed to college rules. I lived through a five overtime game and it was nuts.
Make a stop with 13 seconds left and bingo no OT simple as that.
Regarding the Green Bay game. Had they executed efficiently on offense garnering a few first downs then perhaps you're not forced to punt deep in your own end.

01/24/2022 09:48PM
The debate between who is better Favre or Rodgers is one I wish my team could make with envy…the real question for the Packers is how do you have a Hall of Fame Quarterback at the helm for 30 years…the most essential ingredient in the modern era of Football to get a Super Bowl win…and only have 2 Super Bowl wins and 3 appearances to show for it? It’s a travesty at an unprecedented level with no modern comparison.

Favre’s last few years in GB he was only thing getting them to the playoffs…then they passed the reins over to Rodgers and it looked like they were daring him to win with the teams they put around him…He did it…Once…

No other organization has had so much ammunition and fired so many blanks…maybe the Elway Broncos or Kelly Bills but they also ran into Juggernaut teams in the Super Bowl too and didn’t have them for 30 years. Even Elway pulled off 2 Super Bowl wins and 5 appearances during half the time GB had these HOF QBs.

The fan base just accepts it too. Maybe they didn’t get lucky…and they’ll get another HOF next year. Why not? But the odds are poor for that.

I think Rodgers will be back at least one more year…the division is weak…they should get at least one more chance. It’s still his best chance to add a super bowl IMHO. That one more Super Bowl will change the outlook of some of the thoughts above.

I hear you Jackfish. My two cents in regard to the three HOF QB's that the Pack has had is this - when Bart Starr got the ball back with a little over 5 minutes to play in the Ice Bowl he lead an epic drive that resulted in the winning touchdown and he called all of his own plays. Favre's last drive as a Packer against the Giants in '07 resulted in an interception and Rodger's last drive against the 49'ers Saturday resulted in a 3 and out.
I know I'm old school but in my book coming through during the most intense times in a playoff/championship game is the true mark of the games greats.

The first game I ever watched was the Ice Bowl after which Bart Starr became one of my heroes. I even had Bart Starr shoes one summer. Umm, as I recall, they were basically all black tennis shoes with a red stripe on the edge of the sole.

All I know for certain is they most certainly allowed me to run faster and jump higher at least for a day or three.

R.I.P. Mr. Starr.

To people who claim Rodgers is the best QB in history, I say hogwash. Define best. Best at winning championships? Best passing stats? Best leader? Best looking?

Anyone who has played competitive sports knows the goal is to win. Yeah, it's also about the process of improving as a team, player and leader. But winning is what it's about in the pros. QBs have more impact on wins and losses than any other player week in and week out. And truly great QBs win when it matters most--rivalry games, playoffs, and of course the Super Bowl.

By this standard, Brady is the GOAT. Heck, I'd even put Starr ahead of Rogers.

01/25/2022 02:05PM
From my point of view, I never said Rodgers was the best qb in NFL history. He is the most talented qb I've ever watched play. I figured that out after watching him play 2 games. Obviously Brady is the best, he's won the Super Bowl 7 times. Last year with Tampa Bay sealed the deal, it got rid of the myth that his success was a product of the Belichick system, and the Bucs weren't so hot before he got there.
If you cheeseheads don't want him, we will welcome him to Chicago with open arms. I don't think the new guy, I forgot his name already, is going to pan out. Looks like another buster.
Next games should be fun to watch also. Hoping for a Rams Bengals Super Bowl. Enjoy.

Cheers, scat

Brady is obviously the GOAT. Rodgers probably the best regular season QB of all time, no doubt. But who cares-- Dan Marino anyone? Again Brady the GOAT. 2nd place (well ahead of Erin) is Montana. 11 touchdowns in 4 super bowls agst the best of the best with ZERO picks. When it comes to Championships ( and is not that what they all play for?) - please don't compare Erin Rodgers to Joe Montana. If so- It's a disgrace to real champions. Rodgers is a joke in postseason- when it really counts. Even Pack fans will tell you that.

uqme2: "It's all rigged anyway. ;)"

+1

This became very apparent to me after watching Rogers let 30 - 40 seconds roll off the clock during multiple 2 minutes drills at the end of the game. And just letting the clock run out with 40 seconds before half time. May have to become a college football fan.

Did you see the packer get run over on the blocked punt. A blocked field goal and a blocked punt in the same game. Ya right.

I love the Packers, but want Rogers to go. I'm sick of the drama. He's as coy as Scarlett O'Hara.

He should bat his eyelashes behind a fluttering fan at press conferences and say, "Why, I do declare! I have never seen so many gentlemen callers in all my life. Why do all y'all wonder so about little ol' me?"

Everything else is elementary.
