Finally saw a YouTube ad that actually....spoke to me....while watching a Matthew Posa BWCA video.

Lightbar Headlamps .

These sound very promising - will be ordering one up a "sport model" with extra battery.

The Sport model is water resistant to use in the rain.
Lumens
300 Hi, 150 medium, 50 lo

Spotlight mode lumens
80 Hi, 40 lo

Battery life (1800mAh)
4.5 hrs Hi, 21 hrs Lo

You can add a 3000mAh Pro battery, and you get 9 hrs battery life on Hi.

You can get an accessory to create a collapsable 'tent lantern'. Could even set this up on a branch to light your campsite if needed. So many possibilities with these.

Would love to hear from anyone with Lightbar experience.

Looks interesting for working with items close to your body, assuming the light dispersion is great, however guessing not great at more distant lighting like most traditional headlamp can do.
350 lumens for the sport and 500 for the pro isn’t great for most newer headlamps. But at the price point it’s decently comparable. Annoying thing about wide light dispersion headlamps is you blind anyone you’re around.

Lightbars and others were discussed pretty thoroughly in November 2021.

Yeah I did purchase one with spare battery, and AA battery pack. I like it a lot! Have used it for in-house chores and it works far better than conventional headlamp when working with my hands. I do find it gets warm if used for more than 10 minutes but not unbearably. The light strip is velcro-ed to the head strap so it can be separated to wash the headband or used without the band. It is NOT a spot beam, and while bright on high it has 2 lower settings, and red, I find it much less offensive than a spot flashed in the eyes.

Cool. Thanks for the link. If the moderators/admins want to delete this thread, or simply add it to the linked thread above, that'd be most excellent.
