noodle: "Nobody's gotten it yet, but I WAS looking at a North Wilder pic and was tempted to use that. (Did you look at my last solo report?)
After 24 hours I'll throw in another clue or two."
North Wilder was one of my favorite lakes to camp on. Have not been there since the fire but that picture reminded me of the creek.

This is playing hard, with 23 guesses so far! The nearest guess is still 4 portages away. Next clue will come after another dozen or so incorrect, if that doesn't help. (Another hint - note that there's no significant burn or dead trees sticking out, so it's likely not in the Pagami wildfire area.)
As for that small creek heading south out of Hudson, I'll be back there in June when there'll be more water, just to ... I'm not sure what. Say "I won"?

In BWCA, not Quetico.
To recap: two photos so far (looking ESE at a creek, one looking back SW at a not-very-used entry to the lake), 4 portages away from the nearest guess, and one more clue .... if it weren't for all the lilypads in the first picture, the lake would live up to its name.

coffeetalk: "Reflection"
You got it! Reflection, in the Spider Lake PMA. Closest guess to it was Adventure (thus 4 portages to Cattyman, to Jordan, to Ima, to Reflection). The creek in the first picture can be followed to a short uphill portage to Sedative Lake. Scroll down on https://bwcawild.com/PMA-Spider-Lake/Reflection-Lake/Reflection-Lake.html and you'll see those same dark black cliffs that are on the left-center of my first photo.
Second pic is looking back at one of the northern bays on Ima, which allows some access to Reflection.
Congratulations, coffeetalk!
