Having 5 canoes I am always looking to simplify things. I purchased a set of STRONGROWTH T track Hold Down Clamps to make yoke clamps at a cost of $20 from Amazon. They lock in really tight. Hope this helps others with yoke issues.

Thanks for the tip, they look solid. I've used T-Track on a lot of woodworking jigs, never thought to expand the usage. Kudos!

Curious what the clamps weigh. Aluminum or steel?

billconner , the set weighs 14 1/2 ounces and is made of aluminum. I took my Spring Creek yoke clamps off a yoke and weighed them. They are 12 1/2 ounces and are made of plastic.

I agree, I think these could be easily fabricated.

I had looked at those clamps and wondered how they would work as yoke clamps. Glad to see they do well!
