I have paddled and portaged tandem aluminum canoes for many years in the BWCA and am now considering upgrading to the lightweight kevlar. If anyone has something available for a decent price for a fellow paddler, please let me know. Thank you!

If you can't find what you're looking for on these messageboards, an alternative is to purchase a used kevlar canoe from an outfitter. Many will sell their canoes at the end of the season, turning over a large chunk of their inventory each year. My wife and I purchased a one season used Wenonah Champlain kevlar 5 years ago from Piragis. They offered reasonable shipping for a fee to anywhere within 500 miles of Ely.

Yes good suggestion. There are a lot of outfitters out there- is there a central place that has all used canoes posted or do I need to check each one individually?

You pretty much check with each one. I know Voyageur North in Ely had a few for sale yet a week ago or so.
