I have been going through some older photos and just came across this... the Flying Moose jumped out at me.
The shot was taken on May 19, 2016... I believe just after completing the Elm Portage after entering at Little Indian Sioux.

I think I’ve seen this picture posted here before. Look up the roll call post for the last few years and I’ll bet you find this picture.

Hits me as familiar but I can’t quite put a name on it.

Got it, maybe. I think that might be TwoByGreenCanoe. I remembered the dog from a trip report by OgimaaBines.

You got it... I think he attended some early wing nights.

Well done guys! I just wanted to make sure he got a copy... solo canoists don't often get a shot of themselves on the water. Especially with their paddling partner looking so regal :-)

He has way better posture than me. I wonder if the dog has to get way out front for ballast. Lol.

Is this a new "facial recognition" feature of BWCA.com? Was fun to read through the iterations... feels less invasive than having a computer do it.

It is threads like this that remind me why I am so pleased to be a part of this community. :-)

Jaywalker nailed it. I should have recognized him too. Ive had beers and wings with him at least 2-3 times before. Thats why he looked familiar.

Canine facial recognition software identified the dogs name as “Ely”.

Perhaps this belongs in the recent “confessions” thread, but sometimes I’m closer to dogs than people. I’ve never met Chuck and did not recognize him at all. It was the dog and the canoe.

My mind is like a lint trap for little stray bits of information. Maybe I should be on Jeopardy!

I think I recognize him too now that I have heard his screen name. I camped across the road from him once at the Fall Lake campground.
