Is anyone planning on going? I’m debating on going for the social hour on Friday evening after work. Definitely going on Saturday for some of the talks, Dan Cooke is putting on some tarp set up demonstrations so I think I’ll go to the end of the day one of those.

The 29th day author Alex Messenger is doing a segment. I enjoyed his book and hearing his story so I’ll definitely go to that segment.

I think I'll be there at some point on Saturday for a bit! Hoping to finally buy my first paddle... just debating whether I should get a 50 or 52... I seem to be fine with 50 but wonder if 52 might help with overreach or if it might prevent me from following through completely. Still have a lot to learn... maybe there will be a talk there for me!

Bring your rain gear. The tarp demonstration has been outside and it sounds like a rainy day that day.

Seems about right.

I guess we’ll put up a tarp so we can stay dry as we practice putting up a tarp!

Tarp Demo on the Grassy Knoll Saturday afternoon @ 1:30 and then at 3:30.

Midwest Mountaineerings digital newspaper has coupons for discounts throughout the 3 day event.

Hi Dan,
Are those coupons also valid for vendor gear, like your tarps? I always thought that they were only good for "stock" items?

The 20 % off coupon is for in stock store items - read their coupon for the particulars- it is Midwests coupon.. Midwest stocks a number of CCS Products and many other useful items that the coupon would be valid for.

Understood, thank you for the clarification. I did not know that they stocked your products there as well.

I see no CCS products in stock in a search done today at Midwest Mountaineering. Maybe a call or an in-person visit is needed ?

Their website does not list all that they carry. I have delivered Both size of the Padded Food Packs our 4 sizes of Hybrid packs, Barrel Packs, Rucksack, Bushcrafter, Wanderer as well as our Zippered stuff sacks,Ridgeline Stuff sacks
and they have our tundra tarps in 1.1 and 1.9 oz fabric in many different sizes Delivering a few Tundra Tarps tomorrow as well. Looks Like i need to get them to add CCS to their vendor list at least.

Thanks, Dan. To be sure, searching their site for current merchandise offerings, not just CCS, involves some difficulty and is usually incomplete. I make no bones about the fact that I am after a bargain price on a 1.1 oz 10x14 in a lighter color. Yellow? I've mentioned these specs here before, and I've also missed a couple of near-perfect sale items in the For Sale forum here... We all love a deal, but I hesitate to make the trip down without knowing that something will be available. (Apparently, discounted prices are only valid for in-person sales.)

BTW, who takes the hit on the 20% off? You? or MWM? If I am reaching into your pocket for this, I'll probably just order on your site directly...

To receive the digital coupons, you need to have them emailed to you, and you had to sign up for that prior to April 16.

I'll be there...helping out MWM at the expo.

It was nice to be back at the Expo. Smaller than previous years, but that is to be expected to a degree. Saw some familiar faces and got to spend someone else's money on a CCS tarp which was quite enjoyable!

Can put some instructions up as to how this is achieved?!?!

I was there with my young lab and watched Dan’s tarp demo. I felt like I knew quite a bit about tarps, but definitely picked up 4-5 ideas I’ll have to try out. My dogs have always loved the Expo - so much popcorn on the ground.

Sadly, I need to ship the tarp to the buyer on Monday, but it was still fun being a shopper!

Watching Dan is always a treat.

:-)

Frenchy was kind enough to pick it up for me during his Expo visit. If anyone else gets the idea that I might once again be putting up the cash so that you can purchase a CCS tarp, know that this was a one-time deal!

So great to have my own Personal Shopper!

There was a lot of popcorn on the ground and a lot of dogs to eat it today! It was like Westminster Dog Show in there. Always fun to see an Irish Wolf Hound among other breeds....
