I am looking at buying a drift sox for my canoe. What size should I buy? 24” or larger?

You really don't need much for a canoe - I would buy the smallest size they sell - something for a 12-16' jon boat equivalent.

Collapsible sink or bucket works well. 4-5 gal (16-20 L).

24" is about right. I like the Minnkota MK26 which is 22" and very light weight, less than a pound but well built. Skip the ones with floats and weights (the MK27 has floats and weights) as they are not needed with socks that size and weigh a lot more.

I bought the smallest Minnkota sock. It seams to be the right size for canoes. I can send pics or you can email me with questions. I will be using it in 52 days 7 hours. Whoooohoooo!
