Wondering if anyone has done the dreaded Cache Lake portages lately (preferably last year as I doubt anyone has been there this year).

I'm planning on tackling them with a buddy in early June. We did them about 12 years ago and forgot how horrible they were so we're looking for a refresher. Curious what they were like. When we last did them, it was mid-july and there was so much deadfall, it didn't look like anyone had been through at all that year. At the very least, I am expecting them to be soaking wet.

The Quetico Portage Maintenance map says they were maintained in May of last year. The fires didn’t hit that area last year either. I have no firsthand knowledge though!
