We have a June 4th entry at Sawbill. We are heading up the Kelso River and doing the 460 Rod portage from Lujenida Lake to Zenith lake. I have done this portage 7 times in the past 28 years. I don’t believe the water has ever been this high (I don’t recall being warned of flood conditions and recommendations for higher wilderness skills). Anyway, there is a small “stream” that runs parallel to the portage just to the east and it crosses the halfway point where there’s a bridge. I know in the past, there was two occasions when we tried to take that stream, but couldn’t make it and had to bushwhack to the portage. I am curious if anyone familiar with this portage has any thoughts on if it might be navigable this year?
