The website shows two sizes. Which one should I order for BWCA use?

I have the small, and have never needed a bigger one for a week of fishing leeches, a few hours a day with 2 people.

Get the large if you trip with more than two people

Small size holds a lot.

The smaller size is about perfect for two people for a week of heavy fishing.

I take the large size...but we use about 2 pounds of leeches for our group. We also bring smaller containers for day trips and leave the large one at camp submerged. Always make sure to change the water every day.

I bought the large one and it is huge. I have a smaller leech locker and it fits inside the large Bait King. We will use the leech locker for day trips. Live and learn...

Your answer depends on how much bait you plan on bringing, also how hard you plan on fishing. One pound of leeches get the small. Two pounds get the bigger one. Our groups of 8 guys needs 2 plus pounds. If you have 4 guys and fish hard you might want the bigger one. If you plan on bringing night crawlers too that will factor in on your size choice.

I appreciate the responses.

How do you submerge the bait king? How deep? How far from shore?

I bring both in. We fish hard and typically bring 3 lbs in.

Tie it to a root, or tree and throw it in the lake. Doesn't have to be deep, or far out. The biggest thing is to keep them in the shade. Some people put a rock or two in with them to help it sink.
