Hey All - my son and I have an upcoming trip that we will need tracking for.

On my shake out on the Wisconsin river, SpotX was acting a little wonky. Didn't seem to be tracking correctly, I think it turned off at one point. Main screen seemed to blend with a prior screen when messaging. Then it was acting really strange when I tried to shut it off. I'm going to play around with the online interface and check all my settings, but it acting buggy has me concerned. Thoughts? Seemed to send messages with location link and check in messages ok.

Considering a replacement. Anyone use Zoleo? Like or dislike?

Thanks,
Scott

Curious on others input with the Zoleo as well.

From the way you describe what’s happening, I can’t help but wonder if it got some moisture inside? I seem to recall moisture making some electronics act wonky. Couldn’t hurt to put it in a ziplock with some deciccants or rice for a day or two?

I asked about Zoleo during this past year. All the users who responded said they have been very happy with it. One of my Spots started having weird symptoms on a trip and it was due to some slight moisture in the battery area. It has never recovered. My next purchase will be a Zoleo.

This may be censured but a good and thorough review of the Zoleo here.

This will be the 3rd year I have had the Zoleo. I am completely satisfied with it.
In 7/8 day trips I have never had to recharge it, usually turning it off at night.
It has been used in an emergency situation for another party and worked as
described. A new feature this year is a tracking option (additional cost $6) that can be added. Many choices out there, but this fits the bill for me.
