Does anyone know if the Fourtown fire hit any of the campsites from last years fire? It seems like the fire got close to a few.

Have a Mudro permit in a few weeks and just looking at plan B if Horse Lake is full...

The two with the fires would have been the ones affected. Not sure if they saved the campsites or not.

Which mapping application is this?

Garmin Explore app. I added all those waypoint marks in myself. Based on campsite reviews or other information.

Red flag is a 4*, 5* campsite
Blue flag is 3* campsite
Yellow flag is 1* 2* campsite

Thanks all. If I end up at Fourtown I'll post an update. I stayed at the 4* one years ago, and would love to stay there again.

1099 was great when I stayed there 3 weeks ago. I would have to up Gaidin53's rating from a 3 to at least a 4, but I was solo and had a hammock. No doubt the rock/root thing would foul a tent pad or two, so it's all relative based on your needs. Expansive site, and top notch fire grate setup, for sure. I would absolutely stay there again.

1097 looked like it was in good shape from the water, but I didn't land to check it out.

3* sites are very good sites from my experience! It just lacks one thing usually. Not the same thing. We stayed in a 3* on South Arm of Kinfe last year and the site was great. Water out front was shallow and muck bottom. You couldn’t really swim without stirring up a ton of muck if you kicked your feet.

I think I stayed in a 3* on North Arm of Knife I upgraded on my own because it was an awesome site. It just had a heck of a climb up to the campsite. Which was a plus once you were up because it had a better breeze and an awesome pine grove! Even had a somewhat beach on opposite end. 3* sites are great they generally just lack one component to take them up to awesome sites like size, access, or height off water, or spot to hang a bear bag.
