Has anyone been on the Frost River recently? I’m wondering about water levels and anything else I should know about. I head there in a couple days. Thanks!

The latest on the Frost for BWCA.com is this:

Otherwise, I suggest you contact a couple of outfitters who deal the most with people doing the Frost River:

Sawbill Outfitters

Tuscarora Outfitters

They usually have the latest info on the Frost River.

I’m headed to the Frost River next week. I talked to the Gunflint Ranger Station today to check conditions. They told me the water levels were close to back to normal but still a little high. They did say to be on the lookout for debris.

We paddled the river last week and it seemed fine (going downstream). We did not see significant debris. Current seemed slower than both Louse and Phoebe

Tuscarora should be able to give you some great info for sure. I went through almost 3 weeks ago, but it was perfect conditions at that time.
