Due to a leg injury, I am selling this 17' 0" Northstar Seliga tandem canoe and CVCA pads. Joe Seliga was known for his extraordinary wood and canvas canoe design. Before Joe Seliga passed away, Ted Bell assured Joe that his design would continue as part of the Northstar ultralight kevlar canoe offering and obtained the Seliga canoe molds. A quick personal interaction that I had...on one of my trips to the BWCA with the Seliga canoe on my truck, a car kept passing and slowing down on I35. Not wanting to engage with a potentially angry driver, I kept my eyes on the road ahead of me. The driver was undeterred until I finally noticed that the occupants had crafted a sign exclaiming that there uncle was indeed "Uncle Joe (Seliga)". I never met him but his legacy carries on!

I bought this Seliga from an individual in his seventies in August, 2018. It has been very lightly used and has scratches typical of trips in the BWCA. Under my ownership, it has only been in the BWCA for a mere seven days of paddling and has been stored indoors which I believe was the case with the first owner. The gunnels and trim are beautiful and have been maintained with Watco Danish oil. Selling price is $2,600.
