Probably late to the party but... I have an older NeoAir pad with the original style valve that didn't come with the new inflator so I made one.

Standard trash bag, old plastic jacket spring toggle and a heavy duty produce rubber band. Snip the corner of the bag off, place part of the rubber band thorough the toggle and place that over the trash bag corner. All that goes over the valve and pull tight. As long as you go slowly this worked perfectly and was free.

Hope that's helpful and not already discussed 20 times now. It might work with the newer valve too.

Cheers! martian

+1 on the inflator. We have used one of those the last 2 trips. It is one of our favorite new pcs of gear. Sure we could use the pump bags that we have but this is so simple and takes very little time. Plus my wife typically inflated the sleeping pads and it makes her happy, and by marriage logic it automatically makes me happy. we have the smaller version with the lantern. Lantern is plenty bright enough to provide light in the tent at night. We just used it on a week long trip, Battery lasted all week inflating 4 pads for camp 5 different nights.

This is what I have...

And for the newer-style valves on a thermarest, if you drill out a bottle cap with a 15/16" spade bit, the cap should snap onto the grove on the valve.
