I am heading up to the BWCA for the first time the second week of September and I am hoping to do a lot of fishing. With northern pike around, what size fluorocarbon leader should I use to protect against having the pike's teeth cut thru the leader?

I have fair luck with 12# fluoro but have to retie a lot with pike. I think 20 would be a lot more pike proof. You could also try AFW Surflon Micro Supreme. I use it in 13# test when fishing for or around lots of pike. It isn't invisible, but is totally pike proof, tieable, fairly limp and tiny diameter. It is a 7by7strand coated stainless wire. It is pricey but awesome at what it does. It has been mentioned a lot by Doug Stange in In Fisherman magazine.

That said, I think "Knot 2 Kinky" is highly popular and very comparable option to AFW Surflon Micro Supreme, while being 1/3 of the price.

Yes, I agree Knot2Kinky is also a good option. Quite a bit cheaper, just as pike proof , just as small of a diameter, still tieable. It is a lot stiffer, so not as good with jigs and such, but fine with topwaters, cranks, any kind of trolling, etc.
