I got my wife up to the boundary waters for her first time.
Though we were in superior forest And not actually in the bwca. We just had a short portage to get down to the lake.
Either way we got to eat a grouse and a trout together. Trout even had roe for eating.
She really wants to come back for more.
.
Wife dropped one of my poles in the lake. We also mistook powdered lemonade for coffee creamer at one point. Fun.

Did an early October trip in the 90's into Disappointment. No trout (we tried for brookies on Ahsub), but a duck, a couple of grouse, and a nice pike.
Also, the best northern lights I've ever seen until the clouds rolled in. Then Freezing rain and high winds.
Pretty average October BWCA trip.
I recall the Grouse being very large and tasty. Fun trip, but never hunted again after my friend married an Aussie and moved to Australia.
Thinking I might need to see if my shotgun still works and give it a go next year.
