Looking for recommendations on some day hikes on the East side. We’ve hiked magnetic rock, caribou rock and honeymoon are interested in other 3-10 mile walks with vistas or points of interest. Thanks in advance.

AllTrails is your friend.

There are also a bunch of trails at the Gunflint Lodge. The High Cliffs trails has some good views.

The Superior Hiking Trail can be enjoyed in sections. Last week I hiked from Castle Danger north then back and latter to Carlton Peak from the Britton Peak parking lot just outside Tofte. Many other options, and a +1 for All Trails.

My favorite is the Centennial Trail. I really like this one because it’s a loop. It has some really nice views and there is a box of maps at the trail head with historical information about mining and where there was a train bridge etc. I’ve done this one 3 times and have only crossed paths with other hikers once.

There are also some nice trails at Chik Wauk Museum.
South Lake Trail near Rockwood.

Mayhew lake area provides access to the Munker Trail which offers several loops incorporating the BRT.

Thanks for the helpful replies everyone, pleasantly surprised to hear we have so many options. Do you think maps for most of these trails will be easily found at lodges/outfitters on the trail?

I have seen maps at some locations but have mostly shifted to electronic maps and GPS tracking. I use AllTrails and am aware REI has its own system and there are several other options. I won't advertise for any app but do like the off-trail warnings many offer. Once on the trail spur trails and even animal trails can look like the right way. Some trails are well marked, others not so...

Cool, thanks. I haven't used AllTrails but looks like I can use my phone in airplane mode so this looks like the perfect option. I've been in situations were I couldn't tell which trail to follow and the anxiety is no fun.

Sorry, I guess it's listed as Mucker Lake trail on the bwca.com map. It's just south of Topper Lake running east. (You may have to zoom in before it actually shows up )
