It is time to start the December 2022 Photo Contest, as well as, Trip Report Contest.

First an important note. If you see that you have won the contest or a prize in the contest, please email your address and choice of hat, shirt, or decals to me.

Remember 1 entry per person, please. This helps us vote accurately.

Rules:
- You must be signed in as a member with a valid email address in your profile to enter (or win).
- You can only enter one photo per monthly contest. You can enter the same photo if it did not win with it prior.
- Photos don't need to be taken in the month of the photo contest. You can enter any photo you have taken which matches the theme.
- You must be the photographer of the photo and have the right to post it.
- Photos are entered in the contest by making a reply posting to this message and using the "Add a photo to this message" link during composition. This will allow you to upload a photo from your computer to the contest or allow you to select a photo that you have already loaded into your photo gallery on this site. If you want to enter your photo in another way, please contact us.
- Please describe in the message the location of the photo.
- Judging will be done by the www.bwca.com staff and moderators.
- A member may win once per year.
- Photos must be posted to this thread by 11:59pm on Dec 31st. Photos must be in jpg (jpeg) or png format and uploaded to this site.

So hard for me to choose the best of the best. So many beautiful scenery shots that evoke amazing memories for me. But at the end of the day this one stands out and I am sure you would agree that this is one of the symbols of the BWCA that we all love. From an emotional and technical perspective I think it is pretty good and one of the shots I am proud of. I can't win anyways, posting just to be part of the fun.

Off topic, sorry
willfess, is that the southern island site on River Lake? We stayed there for a few nights in 2015 and loved it, great site. Had the best walleye fishing of my life at dusk off the point on the left hand side of the lake just to the south of the campsite, where the lake narrows. 35 or so walleyes in 45 minutes, nothing real big but a lot of fun. Did you check out the sand beach site at Amber Lake?

Like to get back there, not sure I am up to it these days. Sure was a sweet spot.
