I will be bringing a buddy up the Gunflint to do some non-BWCA grouse hunting in October. I enjoyed a nice Tuscarora Lodge cabin last year with my family, but planning for this trip to be a bit less “comfy.”

Does anyone know if there are bunkhouses we could stay at? Looking for a camper cabin-type outfit to use as a home base.

Ryan,

I am an old retired ranger out of Isabella, the Knotted Pine will suit your needs.
I shot alot of grouse out of that area.

Rockwood Outfitters has a pretty simple bunkhouse option as well. I've stayed there twice before, and it would be perfect for a trip like yours. Pretty sure Carl, one of the owners, grouse hunts as well so he could help point you in the right direction.
