I got a permit for stuart river and sundial pma. I plan to check out whitefeather and the flyfishing so I got a sec 3 permit for two days. I got the next 4 days in sec 4 where I plan to go back to sterling. I just now noticed contest lake in sec 4? Anyone been there? I'm guessing small pike? I read a trip report but they didn't fish. Sounds like it has a section of rocky shore to camp maybe. Just curious if anyone been there lately. thanks

The water was so high last May the tiny creek going into Contest was like a small river. Having watched videos of it, I didn't think it was worth the effort at 10 foot depth, but if the water is high, it certainly won't be to hard a bushwhack. Video shows possible camping spots.

I personally haven't been but, I know there are a number of members who have gotten back there over the years. Don't recall anyone speaking of fishing.

Good resource, Firecraft. That website, with videos and pics, was very informative and well put together. Did you create it?

I agree 100% I'm not able to watch video but the pics and text are top notch.

It is very informative. I believe a forum member by the name of Dansolo runs it.
