I recently purchased a used Cabela's Boundary Waters 6 which is a rebranded Timberline 6. I have previously used Timberline 4s and are familiar with the straight white plastic pole hub. However, this Cabela's tent is missing the plastic "Sportiva" hubs which appear to be a circle (based on the setup directions).

Could anyone provide photos of their tent hub so that I could make it but an appropriate replacement? Otherwise the tent body and fly appear to have been used maybe twice, I'd hate for it not to get used.

Thanks!

Is this the tent pole hub you are interested in?

Unfortunately no. My tent doesn't have the small center spreader bar and uses the traditional mill aluminum poles. I did find an eBay seller that has several "Sportiva Hubs" for purchase but I don't know if any of these are the correct ones. I would post a link but I'm too new here I guess. The male section of my poles have an 11mm diameter.

return it immediately.

I bought 3 of the Cabelas "Boundary waters waterproof backpacks" and the straps failed on 2 of them, 4 portages in. I took them back to Cabelas in Minneapolis expecting the 'return or replace' policy on Cabelas branded gear. That is no longer in effect since Basspro took over. All they offered me was to let me buy 2 of the exact same packs for the employee price. Because I bought them too early prior to my trip, I wasn't eligible for a straight return.

Make sure you either get it the problem rectified before the return window closes, or return it ASAP.

Cobbermam, I am confident that the pole hub you found on ebay will work. I searched and found several 90 degree 4 way tent pole connectors for 11mm poles in both plastic and metal alloy.

foxfireniner - the key word in the first sentence is "used". He purchased a "used" tent which he probably can't return.

I got it at a second-hand consignment outdoor store. They generally do not accept returns but the owner did say that he would make an exception if there was damage or missing parts to this tent. They were closed over the weekend and Monday and will contact them today to see what can be done.

I thought if I had photos of someone else's tent I could then purchase the replacement hub on eBay with complete confidence that it would work/fit. Without that confirmation, I'll pursue the return option.

Thanks all.

I have a Cabela's 4p Boundary Waters tent. Can't do it right now, but will open it up when I get a chance and take photos of the poles.

I hope you got it and it worked out for you. The Boundary Waters 6 tent must be differently designed from my Cabelas BW 4, as I didn’t see such a part. Just this:

The early, maybe original, timberline had wooden blocks with holes drilled in them. Possible you could make this piece. I've gone through two sets of the plastic and am thinking of make a pair in wood.
