Anyone been through or know why there isn't a portage between Adventure and Jordan. Google earth shows terrain on the south side that looks conducive to a portage, but all the maps show the trip up to cattyman and then back down. Why the detour to a little swampy lake?

Because that little swampy lake has a waterfall at the NW end.

^This...and, I don't believe you'd save much, if any, time or sweat equity anyways as the Cattyman~Jordan portage is almost a highway (excepting the landing on Jordan. It's been a couple of years but, I believe the existing portages are, and would still be, the path of least resistance - even if there was a trail directly into Jordan from Adventure.

Interesting picture of the falls. Here's what it looked like when we were there in September of 2020.

It’s a nice route, Speck. When my wife and I did it, Snowbank was near glass so we were able to paddle up to Boot. Paddled and portaged through all those little lakes into Ima. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Always interesting to see side-by-side pictures at different water levels. My picture was from June 2 2017.

Ha - one of the first BW trips I brought my wife on we did the Sea Gull to JAP portage. Not my brightest moment for sure.

JF, I take it that was an early start on Snowbank...about what time did you start?

Howie, we didn’t hit the water until mid-morning. Just got lucky with near glass paddling. Plan B was to go through Disappointment, but we didn’t have to. The later start did bite us a little when we were looking for a campsite. Missed out on several, but finally found one that was open.

Did Snowbank to Jordan last May. That little jump from Adventure to Jordan looks good on a map but is will not work.
