Which end of Lac La Croix is better for spring/early summer lake trout, east or west? What little information I’ve been able to find, suggests the east end of the lake offers the better fishing. Just curious to hear everyone else’s experiences. Regardless, it looks like EP 14 and 16 are tough to get passes for. Certainly looks like quite the destination.

Memory is a little fuzzy but, I seem to recall Canadian waters possessing the best spots....
If he doesn't chime in, I'd look up bwca.com member lundojam. I think he is the member whom i believe has reported most successful laker fishing on LLC. Im pretty sure his wife evencaught a 34 inch laker a few years back.
Also, you could use the Little Vermilion EP to get to LLC. If you want to pay for a tow??? Or, endure the long paddle?

Caught this laker on the north central part of LLC on July 8, 2020. It was a very HOT 96 degree windless day trolling 30 ft deep over 80 ft of water. Only laker we caught that day.
I spent more time swimming that day than laker fishing.
First time ever fishing BWCA. Covid 19 epidemic didn’t allow border crossing so LLC it was. Beautiful big lake with great fishing.
