In just two weeks, my family will head into the BWCA for a four generation canoe trip. The youngest, my great grand daughter, will be 18 months old and the oldest, my sister, 77 years. All, but the little one, have made numerous trips, both travel and base camp. The father of the little gal was on his first trip at about that same age, BUT, back then the rest of us were 26+ years younger.

I am working on dehydrating our meals and prepping equipment. We will NOT be traveling light. Any of you completed a four generation trip? How did it go? Pointers?

Nope, I have not had that experience to have four generations in the wilderness. What a cool opportunity for you and your family! I hope you get lots of photos and create stories to be passed down to those who come next. Enjoy the special time with your family!

Best my family has done is a classic three generation fly-in trip to northern Ontario..

Very impressive. Hope you have a great trip. Be sure to give us some follow-up...

I did a portage last summer with a group doing a 4 generations trip. The teenagers and their parents did all the heavy lifting. The 90 yo carried the fishing rods and was having the time of his life! They kept the daily goals small. They had base camped on Moose Lake (by North Fowl) and then exited by staying on John Lake for a couple more days. You are going to have a great trip. I can't wait to see your pics!

That sounds like a great trip!
It will be fun Campfire chat hearing which generation people think is the best and what’s wrong with the others that aren’t Baby Boomers!

Have fun!

I agree, sounds like a great trip. I hope it cools down a little and the bugs settle down a lot!

This will be one for the books! Dehydrating finished, packing in progress and have to go to "Bell" canoe to get a new seat for my old Northwind. The wicker finally gave out after 24 years. I am on the "fits it ships" mode for this trip. I will post when we return.
