Hi all!
I have a Spirit II that I need to refinish as it has some deep scratches and some areas where the Kevlar fibers are “fuzzing”. Anyone have recommendations on which products to use to refinish? I have seen a couple videos on how to refinish, but am looking for tips and recommendations on the process.
Thanks.

egknuti: "Every year I use Epifanes Varnish to cover any scratches on the bottom of my canoe. "
I refinished a Wenonah Boundary Waters with Epifanes last year. I thinned the first coat 50/50 with mineral spirits. The second coat thinned with 25% mineral spirits, and strait Epifanes on the final coat. I hand sanded the entire outside of the canoe to make sure I got a good scuff on every indentation. The thin first coat really soaks into the scratches and fibers almost making them disappear. Nice glassy finish.

I've heard reports that varnish can make good resin adhesion difficult in later repairs.
