Bought a used Wenonah kevlar canoe and had some questions on the cause of some blemishes. 10+ year old canoe that apparently has never been used. Stored inside. Has a couple areas of white spots (see photos) that I'm not sure what is causing. Anything to do about these?

I'm gonna say it was sold as a blem. That looks like poor resin uptake into the cloth. Either too thick or bad bagging job. Probably been there since manufactured. A little unsightly but not a big deal structurally.

I agree with cowdoc. This is incomplete wetout. It is not real bad and probably not structurally significant. I would make sure the areas are well sealed to prevent water from getting down into the fabric. Brush on some spar polyurethane in the areas with the little craters. Check it a few times a season to make sure the coating is good.

Any chance it's bits of leftover release agent from the mold?

My 35 year old Wenonah has some of the same spots by the bow.
Has not caused any problems. I have maybe waxed the canoe but that all.
I would not use spar varnish on it. It causes repair problems not allowing the resin to properly attach.
Wenonah will not repair a canoe that has been varnished. I would use some vinyl Esther resin on it if you need to.
