I was on Brule twice last summer with AT&T, I am pretty sure there is no cell coverage anywhere on Brule. Definitely not in the middle or western campsites, and I doubt the eastern ones are any different.
May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

I am fairly sure one of our group got a signal at the top of a substantial hill on the northern shore, more-or-less north of the entry point...and that had to be 8 years ago. It was not at a camp and involved a hike - don't recall the carrier.
And I definitely got a signal at the top of the hill above the famous rock slide on the west end...that was 2016 and verizon. Also involved a hike (in improper footwear).

The only time I've had service at Sawbill was sitting in front of the store connecting to their wireless. No service in the campground or beyond. Brule is not that far from Sawbill so would not expect any service there. For that matter, service in Tofte is sketchy.

ERomilly: "Is there cell phone reception at the Brule Lake eastern campsites? If so, what carrier? Trying to avoid purchasing sat phone minutes or renting a spot."
Are you familiar with the IOS 18 thread in the Gear Forum? Apparently Apple iphones with the new operating system, IOS 18, will be able to send text messages via satellite.
