You don't see a lot about this, but I found this item recently and thought I'd share incase anyone else needed something similar.

My wife has always been very nervous is a canoe. Stems from an incident in an alligator infested river in Florida many years ago (long story). Anyway I've been trying to get her to come to the BW with me for a couple years now. She finally agreed this year and we were all set to go to Wood lake last week.

The fire changed our plans, but thanks to these stabilizers she was able to enjoy several days of fishing wilderness (ish) lakes around the Ely area. We stayed at south kawishiwi campground and targeted small out of the way lakes. She had a great time, and was for the first time ever, comfortable in a canoe. She was even treated to catching a 40" or so pike. It was so big it didn't even come close to fitting in my net and it spit the lure before we got a measurement and photo. But it was HUGE!

Nice. Glad it worked for you and that you were able to execute an acceptable plan B.

Years ago , I saw a guy on West Lake in Quetico with similar pontoons attached to his canoe. He was standing in his boat while fishing.

I'll add that these stabilizers make fly-fishing from a canoe a WHOLE LOT more fun.
Rock solid stability to stand and cast and fight large fish all day. Just be careful not to let the fish get tangled in them.

Fantastic product, though.
