Are you about to or did you cancel a permit? If so let the community know so they can keep an eye out for it.
We recommend subscribing to this thread at the link at the bottom.
NOTE: Permits which are cancelled are not immediately available. They will likely become available in the next 8 - 24 hours. The best way to know when the permit is actually available is to sign up for permit alerts.

I just canceled my June 21 Brant Lake permit.
What was to be the summer of my first BWCA experience is now going to be the summer of my divorce. Suppose I still could have gone but would have just spent the whole week in isolation overwhelmed with anxiety as I wonder what’s transpiring on the home front. If all goes well it’ll be over in August. I’ll do something local in the fall when I can relax again. Then spend the winter planning to do this trip next year.

Someone cancelled a permit for EP 47 (Lizz Lake) for May 23, and thanks to this notification system, I was able to get it. Still a little shocked that it happened, because I'd tried to get that permit on opening day and it was gone within seconds. A hearty thank-you to whoever came up with an implemented this system and this site!

I just cancelled a permit for Mudro-EP23 on Tuesday, May 20th.
Our plans changed slightly and we're going in at LIS the day before. Hopefully someone can put this permit to good use.
I've always had great success starting canoe trips on a Tuesday (and every other day!). I'll miss Horse and Fourtown, but we'll do it another time, God willing.

Just cancelled a permit for little Indian Sioux South on August 23,
Grandparent duties were required.

Best of all he loved the fall. The leaves yellow on the cottonwoods , leaves floating on the trout streams and above the hills the high blue windless skies

Long time member, mostly a lurker. I signed up for permit cancellation alerts via email for the first time this year. I'm surprised at the number of permits being cancelled for September. Is this usual? I know this feature has only been going for a few years, so maybe there is no "usual." Is there something causing the "mass" cancellations, like intolerable bugs or flooded portages or some other issues that cause cancellations at popular EPS like Lake One, Sawbill, Mudro, etc.?
I pulled a permit a few weeks ago for Sept.15 out of EP 52, Brant Lake. While I was glad to get it, Brant wasn't my first choice. If I'd known enough to wait a few weeks, I'd have about twice as many EP options as I did earlier. Please enlighten me if you can. Thanks.

Chris https://chrisnorbury.com profile photo is from 2010. Dad, me, and the redwood-strip canoe he built (with my limited help as a 9-yr-old) in 1965 (or '66).

Lots of info in this thread from the Listening Point Forum. Record number of cancellations
You could cancel and pick up a more preferred entry point that opens up.
I did the email alerts for the first time this year as well. I did it for Baker EP for the month of August. 2 permits per day = 62 permits for the month of August and I ended up getting about 20 cancellation alerts.
