Right now today I have never seen the bug numbers so low in June for decades. I think in a week deer flies will be coming out. Mosquitoes almost zero.
What will this warm weather do n d recent abundant rain?
I noticed over the decades, if we get a couple of real dry years, like we had, sometimes mosquitoes are not bad the next year. It seems that way.
I will say wood ticks are out in abundance and a few deer ticks and my friend got lymne disease, but got medicine right away and bounced back immediately.
Have Fun.

Good news, I will be wary of ticks but sounds like late June normal bugmania might be a little less this year. Don't usually camp this time of year because it typically the worst of the worst but i am desperate to get out in the woods. will be ready either way but hope for minimal impact.
Thanks for your response.

East of Mille Lacs I have noticed the deer flies came out within the last week. Mosquitos are almost non existent during the day but I do come across them in the early morning and evening hours when I'm in the woods. Outside of a couple hot days its been one of the best starts to summer I can remember.

Usually by now its head net and staying out of the woods by now. This year so far-no head net, no spray and shorts in the woods.
But ticks are common so take precaution
