I know someone's been through recently.....how are water levels?

We left Mudro on 7/11 and came out on 7/18.

Upon leaving the water level was low and we had to portage through the grass to the extended landing.
On the way back in after 3+" of rain that week we were able to paddle all the way to the normal landing.
I don't imagine it will stay that way for long though.
Good luck!

We were able to put in at the normal "beach" on Picket Creek, and it was easy to return to that spot again on Sunday 7/20. The boys at VNO said that the beavers upstream were "relocated" and the dams above that portage taken out, which may have helped. Our float back to the landing was actually assisted by a brand new beaver dam .25 mile downstream -- nonexistent when we entered.

Sorry, no firsthand observation on Horse River, but our outfitter remarked that this July's water level made it a "much easier paddle than recent years... same 2 'normal' pull-overs not on the map."

Horse River was good. 3 marked portages and the rest were runnable or walkable in my 18.5’ canoe with three people and a food barrel. We were day tripping to the falls from horse lake so we ran it twice.

This is all good news, thanks!

The Arrowhead region is getting dumped on this morning. Ely has street flooding to 12 inches. I would check conditions again.
