Cool trip report, you must have hiked 5 miles each way. Guessing you didn't camp there. Dogfish Lake looks pretty with all that sloping ledge rock.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

I’ve always wanted to fish Dogfish. There use to be portage from Shell, but it was overgrown the last time I tried to get in there. I never had the guts to bushwack it solo.

With a name like Dogfish you know the old timers named it that for a purpose… prob loaded with monster walleyes & northern pike, not a dogfish in the lake.
