Thanks for sharing this epic journey. You’ve got some great pictures and even better stories. You know your wildlife too.

I so thoroughly enjoyed that and the pics. Love your description of your wildlife encounters, large and small.

I can also tell you are a seasoned veteran by the way you hang and organize your gear. Very impressive. I could learn a lot from your techniques for sure!

Thanks for posting

PS - our wedding was 20 years ago at the Mudro landing where you took out. Love that area.

Great report. We were just on that sprawling Horse campsite this week. Really enjoyed it, though the site to the south is rather close. Still wondering what that chain was for.

Great trip report! And pictures! The nest looks like a red eyed vireo nest. What kind of chair feet did you find to fit helinox chairs? Those are not the ones on their website.

Yes, your pictures show exceptional interest in even the minutia of nature. I loved the bird's nest and interesting rock features on day 3 and 8.
People thought I made it up up when I told them I thought I saw Trumpeter Swans fly by my land last weekend, but now I stand by my word. They must be migrating.
This summer was horrible with the smoke coming when the weather was nice.
Too bad we'll be missing you in a couple of weeks. I certainly enjoyed your hospitality last year. I hope we get to meet again.

I'm not sure where my son found the feet for the chairs. Mine are just the round golf ball style, but his are more like frog feet

I have really loved over the past 4-5 years how as I slow down my pace traveling, I see more and really absorb the beauty of the places I see! Glad you enjoy the pictures, I love to share them.

Nice trip report and great pics. What do you call the pads for your chairs leg? I saw the pic, always have that problem of them sinking in.

Love the pictures! What do you use to hang your dishes etc. ?

We entered Mudro on the 13th and stayed on Boot. We wanted to do a day trip loop so we went back to Fourtown then started up the creek towards Moosecamp. We didn’t get very far. When we got to the 2nd beaver dam there was a canoe of 4 stuck on the dam. Eventually they made it across but we decided to turn around because we didn’t want to get stuck waiting for them at every one. We didn’t know thee were 10 dams,

What a wonderful trip report! I felt almost like I was there with you, and that was a bittersweet experience, but still very enjoyable. Your photos make me feel like I actually did see the trip along the way. Thanks for sharing.

A trip of a couple weeks is always so much better than a shorter one, IMHO. As I was reading this report, I kept thinking it was one I could have written myself a couple decades ago. . .and in that odd sense brought back memories. So I am a bit weepy as I write this, but still full of joy to have “been there” with you in some places I have NOT experienced as well as some that I did, long ago.

I hope and pray that your time at Rockwood in September is blessed.

Those are frog feet! I prefer the round rubber golf ball style, but my son likes the frog feet

It's like a giant bungee cord with hooks hanging off it. I've had it forever, no idea who makes them. One of my kids gave it to me years ago....I love it! I have a canvas utensil roll that I pair it with and it really holds all the loose gear associated with kitchen and wood gathering.

Great report, thanks for taking the time.

How about those frogs feet or any other feet? You’ve used on your Helinox chair - Do you know what size the legs are? I’d like to order some, but I don’t have the chair with me to measure.
Frogs Feet

EDIT: I guess it matters which model Helinox chair you have which for me is the Chair One (re).

Enjoyed the report, it was still a varied trip, even though you didn't achieve all your goals. Base camping is easier, but seeing new areas and exploring the possibilities of different campsites is more fun. We've been through there a couple of times and it was nice to revisit. The Moosecamp River is a commitment for sure. We had a couple of teenagers along, which made it a little more entertaining. Gull Lake and Horse lake were some of our favorite campsites. I think we were on the furthest north east campsite on Horse though. So pretty.

It's funny you saw several rabbits too. We saw them on several sites in June. I wonder if there is an increased bunny population for some reason?

I hope Dogwoodgirl doesn't mind that I answer, but their population is cyclical like many biological populations.
