Congrats Mike! Looks like that first hog hit on a Whopper Plopper - nice!

I'm in bow hunting mode right now and then it's a hip replacement right after gun deer season. After that I'll be looking at these pics getting ready for an early June, 2026 BW trip! Nice motivation!

It’s actually a Berkley Choppo 120, basically the same thing. They seem to like that lure in late August and early September around moving water. Good luck with the hunting and your medical issues!

Those are some fatties, Mike! Makes me want to go back one more time and I did 2 trips totaling 36 days this year. I can never get enough of those big bronze beauties, or that place. Too bad it's over 900 miles away:(

Yeah, I went on 3 different trips this year! 6000 miles of driving by myself! I listened to a lot of true crime podcasts while driving this year :)

Thanks! It was pretty amazing the quality of fish I caught in so little time. I was only able to fish 3.5 days out of the 5.5 days I had scheduled to fish due to high winds. It’s not easy getting around in a tandem canoe by yourself in the wind.

Yeah, we went there for a few days, camp sites there were few and far between. There was really only one nice one and someone was already camped there. Fishing was good at times, but we had to do a lot of searching being our first time in the area.
