Had to go on a Scout Trip last minute. Originally had 16 scouts going. 2 groups going opposing loops. Then we had some scouts and leaders drop out due to Asthma and the Canadian fires, a case of pneumonia, numerous other reasons until the day we left all of a sudden myself and the Scout master had to go to allow the 4 scouts left an opportunity to go. Crazy…never seen a change in groups like this.

Shout out to Sea Gull Outfitters for accommodating the last second changes.

Ended up being a great trip. For 3 scouts it was their first trip and they completed the 50 miler award, went to Thunder point for the first time, really saw the youth grow on this trip.




Lunch at Sidney’s in Grand Marais on the way home. Ran into a Troop who did the same route who we had just seen at Camp Tesomas…small world

You have given those boys something they will treasure for the rest of their lives, the beauty of the wilderness, shared joy (and misery) with companions, and the knowledge that they can do more than they think they can.
