What an awesome trip for your 50th! My youngest will be starting his senior year at about the same time for me, in a few more years. So now you’ve given me an idea!

Sounds like you found the perfect balance between seeking adventure while still finding time for peaceful reflection. In spite of some very difficult conditions!

Beautiful canoe, I love the Northwind solo and those wood gunwales.

Great report and very impressive trip.
I always seem to hit heavy wind on Snowbank so I appreciate that you still paddled it in the wind and rain. I think Snowbank, and Brule are cursed.
