Sounds like a good trip, last year was the first time I had been inside Chik Wauk and I was pretty impressed.

This brings back memories. Definitely looking into the past instead of the future when visiting the museum. I brought my parents there after getting advice from Mocha while staying at Gunflint Lodge. Great advice.

Writing this through my tears. . .
I was so pleased to see your report and the pictures, Dogwoodgirl. All week I have "wished we were there", and wondered if you and your mother were having a good time. It was such a joy to see this. Thank you for posting it right away, and giving us just a little taste of "being there" with you.

BWCA.com has given us so many "friends we have never met." And friends who gave us amazing ideas: like the "Jello-Mold Oven" which I used so many times and always thought of you. These connections are priceless.

What a wonderful trip and trip report. You chose well in making time to spend meaningful time with those you love before it’s too late.

Sounds like a very special trip. Really touching to hear that it was your first time in a canoe with your mom. I hope my son will still get me out paddling when I'm in my 80's. Thanks for the write-up.
