I've also seen the ads and watched a few reviews on it. Sounds like people are generally happy with the product but the customer service (at least in the past) has not been very good. Hopefully someone here has some personal experience with it.

$250 (now $99 which is 60% off) is ridiculous. $99 is a decent price if it is REALLY that good. Still too much for my teacher's salary. I can get 3 $30 fleece or sweatshirts for that price that are very good. Not $16.99 crap brands either.
I have been taking the $25 puffer jackets (which pack up really small) for those cold mornings and Ive really been happy with them the last couple of trips.

Well, my partner, Paula, likes to ferret out deals on the net, and she found me a nice used wool sweater, so I go with that. And, yeah, SHC, I never have and won't be looking so cool as the dudes in those commercials... but I'll be out there.

It’s fleece. Nothing special about them except they are too thick to layer well.
In their ads, they state layering is not beneficial, so that’s their niche.
non-active people will buy it as a gift for their more active friends, not knowing it is not thin enough to layer well, unless under an anorak or similar.
Again, watch the ad. It’s just marketing junk.
“Men wear this” it’s just fleece. It’s not masculine. It actually had the zippers in the feminine side. Mybe it was first marketed in Europe, or as a European fleece, to Americans.
“You don’t need to layer” it’s not actually practical we all know altering is key.
“”The only one you need” no, everyone uses layers and could easily go without such a thick fleece, and also you don’t need a 100-300 fleece, and if you want one, you should be getting one from a handmade or local source if it’s going to be so expensive. Wintergreen rings a bell.
Corporate bait.
No thanks.

They are thick but certainly great as an outer layer with the thinner layers under. This is a coat/jacket not a fleece shirt. As $99 coats/ jackets go, this one is a decent value.

As I will be, in one of the two like-new 100% wool sweaters from Woolrich that I found for $40 total including shipping.
