I enjoyed your report. I plan to take a trip like with my boys someday.

Nice report, thanks. No explanation for the guy being mad. Let’s say for arguments sake you did something that was not appreciated…he could have just explained it to you. Some people look for reasons to be mad…others are fun to be around :)

Trip reports are always best when they cover terrain with which you're familiar. This was a great read. The father/son element is gold. I started with my son five year ago and he's hooked.

That small island on Olifaunt is a gem. Yes it's small but we just rolled out our sleeping pads on the granite beach and slept there. Great take-outs on either side of the island no matter which way the wind blows. It was almost twenty five years ago when a buddy and I trolled the entire lake a couple of times during the day. On the first pass a huge pike took my lure. On the second pass hours later, we recaught the same pike and retrieved the lure! Magic.

Not sure of your date format...was it June 8 or August 6? By the fishing action I'm guessing June. Not that the action ever really wanes much in Quetico.

Anyhoo, it sounds like you really nailed some classic elements that comprise a special trip. It may be hard to recreate the fishing action, moose, and the extremely rare offencive Tasmanian devil on subsequent trips.

Thanks for the report.
