Wondering if anyone has been into Holt lake in the last couple years. We bushwhacked into the Lake about 10 years ago. Pretty rough getting in there. I’m wondering if it’s still possible to get in there.

Probably about 5yrs ago...had to hand the canoe off over waist high logs.

It scratches the PMA itch I always get while in the bw.

Only caught snakey northerns in there. Love the lake and would like to go back, but, no lakers.

Did you have any luck?

Before the blow down of 1999, this used to be a lake frequented for nice size small mouth bass.

After the blowdown the USFs determined it wasn’t worth it to open the portages. I’m guessing there was more involved in that decision
