Hello! I am looking for recommendations for a trip route.
We are shooting for 4 days / 3 nights.
Our party will be three people, two paddlers. We are very experienced paddlers and are bringing our kiddo. Yes, she has been to the BWCAW before, and yes, we know the difficulties of bringing a little. We're prepared, well-versed, and ready!
We are looking to go in early September.
We don't mind portages, but don't want them to be our entire day.
We like points of interest, even small like a jumping rock. Side hikes, pictographs, and something unique are always a bonus.
I've done a handful of BWCAW trips at various entry points, just looking for something that might be new or something I have not yet thought of.
Thank you in advance we greatly appreciate your suggestions.

For many of us the research/planning is filled with reward. Done as a group project, kiddo with age-appropriate input, is very bonding itself. So rather than recommend a route I will recommend a process and some considerations.
A consideration is how far can you travel in one day and how would weather impact this. We planned an in and out from Lake One to Insula in early September, but a fire closed our exit route. Glad I had maps for an alternative.
Considering what you want and what distance you will travel use the maps feature and select 3-5 possible routes then use the trip reports to scavenge info on camping sites, things to see, etc. The maps feature has comments about camp sites, portages and other things. I have personally lost afternoons when the snow is blowing stirring great memories researching a possible trip for someday. It seems this weekend might make such an opportunity.

Of course! I have planned many trips and get a ton out of it myself. We have several routes we have researched and are considering. I am asking this group in case there is something I have not yet considered or skipped over.

The Kawishiwi Triangle was my first trip as a kid, and I loved it. Manageable, plenty to explore, and the 215 rod portage on the North Branch of the Kawishiwi has a little falls and surrounding logging artifacts which little ones might find interesting. Enough lakes/spots to move camp or base camp and explore, and a variety of entrance points can be used- 29,30, 31,32,33.

Some thing new Armstrong Station top end of Lake Nipigon , Wawieg Lake, Mackenzie Lake, Caribou Lake and the Little Jackfish River. In the summer The White Mile White Water Kayaking but with kids just going up and down the ropes to pool 1,2,3.. Where you can watch kiddos climb the ropes up and down to the pools for walleye @ Little Jackfish River and check out the lakes around which abound in Northern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout and Brook Trout. Good times right off the road easily every cast…

I’ve done a lot of trips with a kid. Daughters are now 20 and 18 and my son is 7. They each did their first trip with me at age 5.
My 3 favorite EPs for trips with littles are South Kawishiwi River, Lizz, and Baker.

Mr. Snackwater,
Have done trips with young kids up toward basswood falls before. Will hit all your defined needs. Entry is Mudro #23. This is a popular area, so maybe you've been here, but just in case:
Head to Horse Lake for day 1. Will take 3-4ish hours of your day. Nice lake, with several good camping spots and good fishing. Day two, head up the beautiful Horse River to Basswood falls and also to the pictographs that are just north of BWF's. You can option to day trip this one or set up a new camp around BWF's. Day 3, spend another night on Horse or Tin Can Mike and come out on Day 4.
