Going to check out Seagull Lake area this spring, not sure where I should set up to pick up the permit when I make the reservation.

Edit - After poking around on the site a bit it looks like there is Seagull Outfitters that would be best, I’ll give them a call.

Confirmed talked to a nice guy at Seagull Outfitters and that is where I will set it up. Looks and sounds like a nice area Yay!

Since you mentioned a spring trip, I will point out that ice conditions in the second half of May can play havoc with Seagull and Saganaga trip plans. Your outfitter will of course be a good source of info, plus they operate a very handy webcam at their dock site:

That outfit looks totally legit. Can’t wait to meet another cool outfitter. Never been to this area before looks awesome from reports. I think we are gonna do the loop, Ogish to Knife to Saganaga and back.

@gravelroad Thank you for pointing out this important consideration. What are the general conditions in min-June?

My Scout Troop used Seagull last year. I had great experiences with the previous owners, particularly Deb…so I was worried…but the new owners were great! We had to make a lot of changes last second and they were way too accommodating :)

You are in good hands!

They do a great job. The bunkhouse is a nice option at a good price.
Staying there helps you get out early. We stayed in Grand Marais once and the Gunflint Trail seemed to take forever in the morning.
