Pretty cool. They are a brand-new company. You could probably lift all of your food packs with that, if it'll lift game (assuming elk....). To lift it 15' would require about 100' cordage plus the suspending line. 1/8" Amsteel Blue would do the trick.

I ordered one. I will report back on utility for hanging a 50 lb food pack once I get it and try it out. I use 1/8 inch amsteel blue line.

Pretty neat - if one could cross-post, I'd say this warrants a spot over on the Lightweight Tripping subforum.

Interesting. I might have to get one of these.

From their FAQ page:
"How much weight can the Game & Gear Hoist handle?
We've successfully tested the weight limit to 540 lbs. Basically, if you're using 550 paracord, stick with that weight limit. The G&G Hoist is not meant for lifting humans. Don't get crazy, and always practice proper safety with rope and rigging under tension. "

And their Tech Specs:
"Tech Specs
Made from durable thermoplastic polyester.
304 Stainless Hardware
Stainless and Coated Fasteners
Paracord Loop Included
Max Pull Capacity: 550 lbs. (Always follow the weight limits of chosen paracord. We recommend 550 paracord for standard use.)
Max Vertical Lift Capacity: 250 lbs. (Always follow the weight limits of chosen paracord. We recommend 550 paracord for standard use.)
Weight: 1.3 ounces."

Cool item. My first thought was using it for freeing a pinned boat, I doubt it has enough weight capacity for that use and it’s probably overkill for hanging a food pack or barrel. I have several small pulleys that were inexpensive and work well with food hanging.

Interesting gizmo. Would still need to get the thing attached to a suitable branch, which is the part of the process I've always had the most trouble with.

Yeah, I use sailing pulleys as well (pic below). I ordered it primarily just to see if it will work. Also, note that the mechanical advantage is 5:1, not 6:1, as they show it being used (one pulley is not used). I will report back if it is competitive with my current pulley set up for hanging a CCS food pack.

I admit that I'm curious...saw a FB ad on this a couple of days ago.

Let's see what we can learn.

I have never had a real world problem this would solve for me that a carabiner or two would not.

Well I've had plenty. Elk, deer, snowmobiles, retired aunties who wake up before everyone else and need coffee but can't lift more than 20#. This looks interesting! I currently use a set of Harken soft attach fly blocks for a 5:1 and love it. This might be even lighter weight, and at under $50 is worth a try, IMO. Before I bought my block and tackle, raising/lowering our food bags was MY task, now I can train the 10 year old on it and only worry about setting it up and taking it down.

I tried something similar years ago with 4 pulleys. Yes it worked just fine in lifting our heavy pack. You better have at least a 100’ of rope.

I just use a basic hardware store pulley and 1/4 inch nylon rope. Pulls up a heavy foodpack easily.

I just about ordered this system but the delivery date is too close to my entry date, May13. I haven't been able to find a way to contact the seller, either.
