Hi all! My three buddies and I are looking into a trip in early June. We are all 16, except one who is 17. I was curious if we could get a permit and if we are able to rent a canoe and some other small things (satellite phone, bear barrel etc.), and what the rules are on that. We are looking at EP25 on Moose Lake and taking a tow up to Prairie Portage and getting to Knife Lake on a 3-5 night trip. All of us, but one, have had prior experience.

Call an outfitter in Ely. They can answer all your questions

I suggest you call Williams and Hall Outfitter right on Moose
Lake. Great people there who can answer your questions, provide outfitting, and tow to Prairie Portage.

I hope it all works out for you. Just please all of you wear your life jackets on the water.

Can’t stress wearing your PFD enough.

You’re only possible hang up might be that the group leader needs to be 18 or older. I can’t remember if that’s the rule but that’s your really only risk of your trip not happening.
