Hey, was wondering if there was any sort of depth contour map of Saganaga Lake. I've searched all over and have yet to find anything. This will be my first trip out there and will have my mega down and side imaging.

Also, what's the average ice out on Saganaga?

You can get lake bottom contour maps of Saganaga from map suppliers like Voyageur, Fisher, McKenzie, Fishing Hotspots & thru the Minnesota DNR on the website Lakefinders. Plenty out there.

For the period 1998 - 2020:

Average Ice out is May 2
68% CI is 4/20 - 5/13
95% CI is 4/9 - 5/29
Earliest was 4/2/2012
Lastest was 5/19/2013 and 2014

Yes it does, I checked earlier today. It has an overall map and Lake Saganaga broke into like 4-5 areas. Same with the map suppliers I mentioned. Can’t help you past that, I’m out

No mn dnr depth maps for Sag on my phone. They break down Sag into multiple sections without including any depth maps.

Ditto. No MN DNR Lakefinder maps of Saganaga. It’s one of those lakes that’s hard to find depth maps. The Voyageur Map 6 doesn’t have it either. If you have access to the Navionics Boating app (subscription $50/year) you may find maps sounded from other Navionics users on there - but no official depth map there.

Try Longitude Maps. They offer two types.

Here’s an older thread that may be useful…look near the end.

Shoulda bought a Garmin ;)

1ft contours (accuracy varies of course) for everything on the US side and a decent chunk of Canada. The portions in all white are not mapped. I don’t really fish that huge part of the lake often, but if so I use the paper map mentioned in the thread linked above, in combination with landmarks to get pointed in the general direction of main-lake structure and use my depth finder to verify when I’m over a hump, etc.

This is what you’d see with the Navionics app (N America map). Garmin owns Navionics.
