Hello, I pulled a Thursday May 7 entry for Little Indian Sioux North and have two weeks to casually make my way to Seagull. I’m seeking opinions and extra safety recommendations on how high water will impact the portages I’ll encounter if I generally follow the border route. As of Monday, the Vermilion River at Buyck is at medium level, 750 cfs, (high starts at 1200cfs) according to DNR website.
Also what are the current conditions of the Echo Trail?
In my planning, I noticed the legality of paddling near the Lac La Croix pictographs in a roundabout way without an RABC permit hasn’t been discussed for a while. Is there a consensus on this matter in 2026?
