Eyes should be jumping in the canoe by the weekend of the 15th. :O) (Warm up coming.) Will be on a BW lake just SE of Ely and I think the timing will be perfect, but what do I know? Pigs should be in eddies of the current.

I’m heading to a small cabin on a large lake for the weekend.
New life, new challenges, new ways too approaching outdoor recreation. Pontoon fishing.
At least the cabin is small and has just what we need and there is a fish cleaning shack! (BYOF).
This is my first trip on an opener since the late 80’s. Excited to get on the water and have no expectations of catching, just enjoying the fishing and fresh air.

Snake bit! Me and the kids fished for a couple hours Saturday to no avail. It was super cold and windy, so we gave up in favor of hot cocoa and cabin fun. Tried today with some pike biting, but couldn’t find the walleyes. Hoping for better luck Memorial Weekend when we’ll be up north again. Water temps were still really cold.

Thanks for the info Tony!!
- I'd except much of the same from others from this past wkend as temps have avg between 5 and 10F below normal since May 1st.
hopefully next weekend is different and water temps can warm -- talking low to mid 70's by Friday.
